Startup Funding

August 2026 Startup Financing: Technology, Energy and Life Sciences Lead

August’s SEC filing activity covered 544 companies raising capital through private offerings. The most common vertical was technology, particularly companies categorized as “Other Technology,” followed by commercial and residential real estate, biotechnology and health care, energy, and specialized financial services. The breadth of the filings reflects continued investor interest in artificial intelligence and software infrastructure, while climate technology, advanced manufacturing, space systems and novel therapeutics also attracted substantial capital.

Largest raises

The six largest disclosed offerings accounted for approximately $4.24 billion:

Companies at the forefront of innovation

Several of the month’s largest technology financings point to major shifts in how software, computing and digital markets are being built. Kalshi Inc. stands out for its role in event-based prediction markets, while Lovable Labs Inc represents the fast-growing effort to make software creation accessible through artificial intelligence. Developer productivity and software reliability were also prominent themes, with CodeRabbit Inc. raising nearly $143.0 million and Generalist AI, Inc. raising $208.2 million.

The computing stack itself attracted significant backing. Oxide Computer Co raised $445.0 million, signaling continued demand for differentiated server and data-center infrastructure. Modal Labs, Inc., Prefect Technologies, Inc., Feldera, Inc. and Ludwig Computing Inc. likewise illustrate sustained investment in data processing, machine-learning operations and developer infrastructure.

Climate, energy and industrial technology

Energy innovation was another defining feature of the month. Antora Energy, Inc. raised $550.0 million for its large-scale thermal energy storage focus, one of the largest climate-tech financings in the dataset. Nuclear and advanced power technologies also appeared repeatedly, including Antares Nuclear, Inc., OrganiCore Nuclear, Inc. and Cardinal Data Power, Inc.. PulseForge, Inc. and California Perovskite Technology Inc. add advanced manufacturing and next-generation solar materials to the month’s industrial technology story.

Space and aerospace were also represented by Castelion Corp, whose $800.0 million offering was the second-largest in the entire group, and Pixxel Space Technologies, Inc., which raised $125.0 million. WindBorne Systems Inc. added another noteworthy aerospace and geospatial-data financing.

Biotechnology and health care remain active

Life sciences companies continued to secure sizable private capital despite the longer development timelines typical of the sector. Epicrispr Biotechnologies, Inc. raised $212.8 million, while Georgiamune, Inc. raised $131.9 million. Other notable biotechnology offerings came from Claris Biotherapeutics, Inc., Integrated Biosciences, Inc., Prana Therapies, Inc. and Halia Therapeutics, Inc..

In health technology, iSchemaView, Inc., Cardiosense, Inc., Teal Health, Inc. and Limber Prosthetics, Inc. reflect continued investment in diagnostic tools, monitoring, women’s health and assistive medical technology.

Overall, August’s filings show a market willing to fund both highly scalable software platforms and capital-intensive efforts in energy, space, industrial systems and biotechnology. At the same time, the large number of real estate and structured-finance vehicles underscores that private offering activity extends well beyond venture-backed technology startups.

Crowdfunding Offerings

Crowdfunding: 56 August Filings Span AI, Climate, Health and Consumer Brands

Companies filed 56 crowdfunding offerings in August 2026, with target amounts ranging from approximately $10,000 to $350,000. The most common apparent verticals were food, beverage and hospitality; software, AI and digital services; health and biotech; clean energy and mobility; aerospace and advanced technology; and media, sports and consumer products.

With business descriptions unavailable in this filing set, the following themes are based primarily on company names and their apparent areas of focus.

Technology and AI stand out

Several issuers appear focused on software, artificial intelligence, digital platforms or specialized technology. ARTHIA AI, Inc. PBC, StarBot Inc and ChatMD, Inc. point to continued crowdfunding interest in AI-enabled products and digital health tools. Simplex Chat, Inc. and Clearpool Digital LLC also appear positioned around digital communication or online services.

Other technology-oriented issuers include SemPresto, Inc., Peak Amp Instruments, Co., Wysera Inc, Boxsy Inc. and SwiftSift, Inc.. Their presence suggests that Regulation Crowdfunding continues to provide a route for early-stage companies developing specialized tools, platforms and instrumentation.

Climate, energy and mobility

Climate-related problem solving is another notable thread. Solar Development Group, LLC filed a $250,000 offering, making it one of the largest targets in the group. ZeroCarb Inc., Dolomite Energy Corp and Chuck Waste, Inc appear connected to decarbonization, energy or waste-management themes—areas where successful innovation can have benefits beyond the individual company.

Mobility and transportation technology are represented by Rad Life Mobility Inc., Metroair, Inc. and xCraft Enterprises, Inc.. The latter two names suggest potential interest in advanced aviation or aerial mobility, while Rad Life Mobility points toward transportation alternatives and accessible mobility.

Aerospace and advanced hardware

Aerospace remains a comparatively specialized but important crowdfunding category. bluShift Aerospace, Inc filed a $50,000 offering, while xCraft Enterprises, Inc. filed a smaller offering of approximately $10,003. These companies exemplify how crowdfunding can give retail investors exposure to capital-intensive technology sectors that traditionally rely heavily on institutional financing.

Optical and medical hardware also appear in the filings. Innovega Inc., which filed an offering of nearly $20,000, and TriplePulse, Inc. suggest continued activity in specialized device and health-technology development.

Health and life sciences

Health-focused issuers include Immunomatics, Inc., After Cancer Corp and ChatMD, Inc.. While the filings do not provide descriptions here, the names indicate work addressing cancer recovery, immunology and access to medical information—problems with significant public-health importance.

Consumer, food and hospitality activity

Food and beverage companies formed one of the broadest clusters. The roster includes Fine Treasure, LLC, Demitasse Specialty Coffee LLC, Yummy Future Inc, Best Is Yet To Come Brewing, Inc., Bearded Brewer LLC, Boone's Bourbon Co., Nosh Franchise Inc., Jordan Energy & Food Enterprise, LLC, Santiago Grocer Holdings LLC and Beyond Brix, Inc..

Hospitality, recreation and consumer-lifestyle offerings include Dothan FC, LLC, MRH CF, LLC, Kokopelli Outdoor, Inc., Ace Pickleball Club Media LLC, Skin Beauty Bar Inc., EVII Mission Hills Inc. and CERLOS(R) Factory I, LLC.

Media, entertainment and creator platforms

Crowdfunding also continues to support community-driven media and entertainment concepts. Relevant filings include Creator Networks, Inc., Fan Cruise LLC, Fanaty, Inc, Red Hen App LLC, Alula Film LLC, Thing in the Hall, LLC and Sounds Of Abundant Revival LLC. Saleen Automotive, Inc. adds a recognizable automotive and enthusiast-oriented name to the month’s filings.

The remaining August issuers were Cesl Site 2 LLC, Chateau Whatever LLC, Yakuru Inc, Stellaris Corp, Stratton & Ivy Inc., Oravanti Ventures Inc, Craftee Tri-Channel Drop LLC, Electus Global Education Co Inc and Kristenhtc LLC.

IPOs

August 2026 IPO Activity

Companies filed 44 IPO-related registration statements with the SEC in August 2026. Activity was heavily concentrated in special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs): at least 16 filings clearly described blank-check offerings, with several additional SPAC-related filings lacking complete pricing or size information. The largest disclosed SPAC offerings included Gores Holdings XII, Inc. at $312 million, Gravity Acquisition Corp. at $250 million, GigCapital10 Corp. and Graf Industrial Corp. II at $220 million each, and Southport Acquisition Corp. II at $200 million.

Across offerings with disclosed terms, the month represented more than $2.2 billion in stated gross offering capacity, although this figure includes SPAC units, potential warrant exercises, direct offerings and other registration types and should not be interpreted as completed IPO proceeds. A number of filings were resale registrations—such as those involving Obsidian Therapeutics, Inc., Aura Consolidated Group, Inc., and YouneeqAI Technical Services, Inc.—from which the issuers would receive no proceeds.

Common industry themes

Companies to watch

Several issuers stand out for the problems they may address or the technologies they represent. Naoris Quantum Protocol Inc. is notable for combining quantum-oriented technology with security and decentralized infrastructure themes. StableCoinX Inc. provides exposure to the rapidly evolving stablecoin and digital-asset ecosystem, while YouneeqAI Technical Services, Inc. reflects the continued commercialization of AI services. In biotechnology, Electra Therapeutics, Inc. and Obsidian Therapeutics, Inc. are noteworthy because advances in therapeutic development could address significant unmet medical needs.

Overall, August was defined less by a broad wave of traditional operating-company IPOs and more by SPAC formation, technology-oriented registrations, biotechnology filings and secondary offerings. The unusually large number of incomplete or nontraditional registrations also suggests that the month’s filing activity should be viewed as an early indicator of potential market activity rather than a measure of completed public listings.
